Kickstart your day on an exciting 2.5-hour Carmel Bike Tour exploring the charming beach city of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Using the easy-to-ride e-bikes, supplied by our partner Mad Dogs & Englishmen, you’ll travel from downtown Carmel through the forest of Pebble Beach on 17-Mile Drive.
Your guide may take you past landmarks including the Tor House, Butterfly House, Carmel River State Beach, and even Clint Eastwood’s Mission Ranch as you easily pedal your way to 17-Mile Drive. It’s truly a morning to remember — this bike ride is a way to see the sights in a unique way that most tourists don’t get to experience. Expect to see some of the most scenic vistas the Pacific Coast has to offer, and make stops for photos and to simply enjoy your surroundings!
 Following the scenic e-bike ride, you’ll enjoy a two-hour Carmel food tour, discovering the unique history, culture, and architecture of this scenic beach village. Enjoy four tastings at a variety of local establishments. Alcoholic beverages are included for participants 21 and older.

La Playa Hotel (Bud’s) –  Iconic hotel with beautiful views and traditional bar lounge with unique nuances.

All food tastings - Four tastings are included on the tour. Alcoholic beverage pairings are included for participants aged 21+. We recommend having breakfast prior to the tour, as all food tastings are enjoyed following the bike portion of the experience.

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION
    • Participants must be at least 16 years old
    • All participants must have experience riding a bicycle
    • The cycling portion is accessible to all levels of fitness, thanks to the e-bikes
    • A light breakfast is recommended – no food provided until the bike ride is finished
    • We must be made aware of any dietary considerations prior to the start of the activity – no substitutions will be made without advance notice
  • What should I wear for the tour?

    We recommend comfortable clothing and shoes with closed toes. It can get cold in the shade, so a sweater or jacket can come in handy.

  • Where can I find parking?

    We recommend parking at the free parking lot on the north end of the Sunset Center, located at 9th Avenue and San Carlos Street. It can be accessed from 8th Avenue and is located between Mission and San Carlos Streets. Use this intersection for GPS navigation, as Carmel-by-the-Sea doesn’t have addresses.  Another option is a paid lot inside Carmel Plaza, accessed from Mission Street between Ocean and 7th Avenues. 

Timings

What is the duration of the tour?

Approximately 5 hours. The tour begins promptly at 11:00 AM and ends at approximately 4:00 PM.

Requirements

What level of experience is needed for riding the e-bikes?

All participants must have experience riding a bicycle. Your tour includes a Specialized Turbo Como E-bike, which offers electric assist, making it easy-to-use for nearly all fitness levels.
We recommend bringing a refillable water bottle. A filtered water station is available to refill your personal bottle. We also recommend bringing a camera or phone for capturing photos.
